Originally named Higgins Station, Trotwood is a sprawling Ohio city located west of Dayton. The city was incorporated in 1901 and has an estimated population of about 24,000 according to the 2010 United States Census. Trotwood is famous for its rich farmland and picturesque Olde Town district, making the Montgomery County community a desirable place to live.
Trotwood is served by the Trotwood-Madison City School District. The district consists of 5 schools that serve students PK through 12. It is the 10th largest school district in Montgomery County and the 139th largest in Ohio. The district serves over 2,500 students.
Trotwood is full of notable attractions and events that will be of interest to both residents and visitors. The annual Dayton Hamvention is held in Trotwood. The convention is attended by thousands of amateur radio operators worldwide each year. Trotwood also hosts an annual tree lighting celebration each holiday season.
